Venus Jupiter Conjunction March 21 2012 Over St. Lazare Québec
Tonight I had a date with a couple of angels in a St. Lazare graveyard.
to the left of a large birch tree in St. Lazare.
The downward pointing equilateral triangle
to the right of the birch tree is formed by
the stars Algieba (left) and Regulus (right)
with the planet Mars hanging below them.

Venus Jupiter Conjunction March 19 2012 Over St. Lazare Québec
Regrettably no Canada Geese deigned to fly through my photos tonight. All of the above photographs were taken with my Sony Alpha A35 SLT camera using a Minolta AF APO TELE ZOOM 100-400mm F/4.5-6.7 for the old Maxxum AF 35mm film cameras. The aperature used was f/8 or f/9 and the early exposures were from .5 seconds to 1 second whereas the later exposures showing some "star trailing" ranged between 10 seconds and 20 seconds. The longer exposures were timed by hand as it were since I used a "shutter" made of a black velvet bag over my outspread hand held a few inches away from the front of the lens to completely eliminate any "shutter bounce" from the long exposures. The ISO was set at 100 for the early images and ranged up to 800 ISO for the later photographs.

Venus And Jupiter In Conjunction At Dusk Sunday March 18 2012 Over St. Lazare Québec
photographs of the March 2012 conjunction of Venus and Jupiter.
The geese are blurred as a result of the slow shutter speed
that I had selected to capture the post sunset dusk sky.
just to the right of the top of the pine tree.
